Updated: Jan 21, 2021

Tax Credit Collective overviews manufacturing activities that can qualify for tax credits- especially the Research & Development tax credit.

Does Your Manufacturing Business Engage In These Activities?

There are many activities that can qualify various manufacturers for capturing the Research and Development (R&D) tax credit. If your company does any of these activities, you could be eligible for the Research and Development (R&D) Tax Credit.

  • Implementing new manufacturing processes or improvements

  • Implementing testing or quality control

  • Developing new products for a customer where technical doubt must be overcome in order to satisfy their requirements

  • Using your know-how that is treated as a trade secret or patentable

  • Going through multiple iterations, designs, code revisions, redlines, blueprints, or schematics

  • Incorporating or developing new technology to catch up to your competitor

  • Attempting to develop or improve a process or product and eventually abandoning the attempt

  • ...and more activities. This is not an exhaustive list!
